The total project fee is dependent upon how much content, information, and/or graphics you supply as well as the number of people involved in the approval process; the more raw content which must be generated by KD DID IT and the more personnel involved in the approval process, the higher the cost of the project.

I blend your need to promote your product with the end user's perspective. I empathize with a user's initial difficulties in using a product and I produce a document, which takes into account the user's probable comfort level.

Editing

As an an obsessive artist, I am creative and detail-oriented. The artist-side is aware of appearances and inconsistencies; the logical-side is obsessive about correct spellings, proper word use, retaining your voice, and ensuring that your text is readily understandable to your audience.

A majority of the work I do involves editing whether it's web pages, manuals, instructions, or novels. It is natural for the author(s) to get too close or too familiar with text or distracted by creating clean, working code. I bring a fresh eye to text which has been overworked or overlooked by its original writers and developers or has been around for so long that some degradation has occurred in the text.

I have included samples, which visually explain content flow, editing, proofing, and content layout.

Layout for Publication

Save time by having me create your publications template with the requisite styles or I can coach you through the process of creating your own set of styles or designing your own template.

Avoid the frustrations of designing the page layout and formatting for your manuscript by utilizing my compulsion to create a professional publication.

This includes creating the "copyright page" with the necessary publication and copyright information although it does not include the cost of the ISBN or the ISBN bar code if the manuscript is intended for print.

The most basic website with the essentials all on one page.

A five-page website includes your introductory page, i.e., the homepage, a Contact Us page, an About Us page, and two pages devoted to your particular services or products. Naturally, it includes everything mentioned above in SINGLE PAGE along with the text for your legal pages.

Brochure Development & Direct-Mail Packages

A wide variety of options exist for creating a brochure or direct-mail package within your budget—the greater the restrictions, the greater the challenge and the more fun it can be!

Three creative concepts are developed:

  • A creative meeting between you and I will explore the differences between the concepts
  • You will choose the final concept

A final draft will be developed which will include:

  • Text, a.k.a., copy
  • Chosen theme including the styling for:
    • Graphics, illustrations, and/or photographs
    • Headlines and up to two heading levels
    • Brochure
    • Website landing page, optional
  • Direct-mail package also includes:
    • Buckslips (additional inserts)

Coaching, Support, or Tutoring

Many clients prefer to write their own text and I advise them to do so particularly when the project is highly personal such as a mission statement, artist statement, biography, goals statement, etc.

I stimulate your imagination and providing guidelines for your text development. I brainstorm, edit, and coax you into producing text, which reflects your needs and identity.

I also provide tutoring in mastering the more interesting abilities of Microsoft Word and Apple's Pages in terms of complex layouts, styles, creating automatic Tables of Content, Figures, Tables, indices, etc.

Rush Fees

Additional fee which may be assessed if the project requires additional hours worked during nights, weekends, or holidays 20-50% On an hourly-paid project
The percentage is applied to those hours worked outside normal office hours

Cancellation Fees

If, for any reason, the project is canceled after it has been started, you will be billed immediately on the basis of the time and effort expended and expenses incurred up to that point $45 per hour

Revision Fees

A total of three revisions per project are built into the estimate: two after submission of the first draft and another one upon reception of the final draft.

This encourages final decisions.
